Dr. John Andrews, DVM
Dr. John Andrews earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2005 from one of the top Veterinary Medical Programs in the country – the esteemed Colorado State University. After graduating, he was accepted into a highly competitive medical internship at VCA West Los Angeles which he completed in 2006. Dr. Andrews then returned to Colorado where he has been practicing high quality veterinary medicine ever since. His dream has always been to design his own, personal hospital with modern and cutting edge architecture, highly efficient veterinary medical techniques, the most cutting edge equipment possible, and a truly “green” approach. Dr. Andrews strives to take veterinary medical centers into the future while still practicing the highest quality of medicine within the community. Mead Veterinary Medical Center IS that hospital, his dream and his passion. He currently lives within the community of Mead and has for the past 8 years. Dr. Andrews is excited to own the first fulltime veterinary medical center to serve the local communities and it will remain locally owned and operated. Personally, Dr. Andrews currently has 3 dogs (2 great Danes and a Molish mix) that he loves dearly – their names are Queen Elizabeth, Princess Madeline, Duquesa Sophia. In his rare spare time, he enjoys camping and hiking the many 14er’s in Colorado.
Dr. Chelsea Burleson, DVM
Dr. Chelsea Burleson developed her passion for animals and veterinary medicine while traveling the world. She mainly grew up in England but returned to the States to complete her undergraduate and professional education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. She has filled her life with a diversity of animal experiences from competing in equestrian showjumping to exploring Australian ecosystems, and she has even studied capuchin monkeys and baboons! Through all of her travels, she found her way to the Front Range and enjoys sharing the stunning mountain views with her two cats, four dogs, and several horses. Connecting with pet owners and guiding them through the care of their animals at every life stage is Dr. Burleson’s passion, and her goal is to bring excellence and inclusivity to each visit and procedure. After previously serving the Boulder area, Dr. Burleson is very excited to join Mead Veterinary Medical Center. She looks forward to meeting you and your pets soon!
Bobbie Jo Meyers
Lead Veterinary Technician
Bobbie Jo Meyers is a true Colorado native. She graduated from Bel-Rea in 2006 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. Soon after, she started her career with Dr. Andrews and has been following him ever since, from Northern Colorado to Denver and finally settling in the Mead area. She loves working in a family environment, where she can make a huge impact in pet care. She has a wide variety of experience, from assisting Dr. Andrews in surgery, to cleaning teeth during dentals, she is a true “Rock Star Tech”! During her free time she is on the go, with Matt, her husband and her son. They enjoy the great outdoors by hiking, fishing and camping. Her home is a fun filled one, with a rambunctious Doberman, “Libby”, and one spoiled cat, “Allie”.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado. She always knew she had a love for animals. She started her animal career in 2017 by getting a job at a doggy daycare facility in Denver and instantly fell in love with animal care taking/interacting. She only grew from there and got a second job working as a vet assistant/receptionist at a tiny little clinic in Henderson. Her love for animals blossomed at that point when she started to get hands on experience. In 2018 the opportunity to work at Mead Vet Med Center came into play and she seized the opportunity and has been loving every second of it since! In her free time she spends a majority being a full time fur mamma to three fur babies, Leia(pit), Leo(husky mix), and Levi(retriever mix). They go hiking, spend as much time as we can outdoors, and enjoy low-key days hanging out.
Lucy has lived in beautiful Colorado for the past ten years. She loves the weather and all things Colorado. Lucy has always had a passion to work with animals. Over the years, she has worked with cats, dogs, cows, horses, and even llamas. She has been working in vet clinics for the past four years and loves meeting new patients and making lasting connections with people and their pets. Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with her three cats, Cotton, Tibby, and Zoboo.
Coryn is a Colorado native and has lived in the Longmont area for roughly twenty years. She grew up in a zoo of animals and has always had an innate passion and fondness for and with animals. She walked into Mead Veterinary Medical Center in August 2021 eager for an opportunity to be a part of our team. She is loving every minute of it and is looking forward to meeting and extending her love to your animals. When she is not here, she spends most of her time trying to keep up with her fur babies, Jax (Rottweiler Mix), Oscar (Chihuahua Mix), Tyson (French Bulldog), and her cat Winny.
Cherinae grew up in the Galeton/Kersey area, she has had a love for animals since she could remember from growing up on a farm. She found her passion working in the veterinarian world three years ago and knew this was what she wanted to pursue her career in. Wanting to relocate to a smaller town she came across Mead Veterinarian Medical Hospital and instantly felt like she was a part of the family. She enjoys exploring the open spaces of Colorado anywhere from hiking, fishing, boating, and camping. But most of all she would much rather spend her days at home with her husband Tyler, two dogs, Riley, Wrex, and her cat Binx!
Dr. Andrews and his staff were amazing! I called and was able to get an appointment for my giant kid in two hours and he made my anxious (rescued) dog relaxed and now on the road to recovery. The perfect balance of professionalism, friendliness, and complete care!Gina Rodman-YartzFacebook

Their vet care and people skills are second to none and I have come to consider them not only at the top of their field but also friends. My dogs are now 12 and 13; I know they have the best care possible and when the time comes, sooner than we all want, I know we have the best team to take care of my dogs AND me.Christine ODellFacebook
Dr. Andrews and his team are lightyears ahead of the rest when it comes to compassion, expertise, and trustworthiness...I am proud to be one of his loyal following who will do whatever it takes to make sure my dogs continue in his incredible care.Sarah SalazarFacebook
I've taken all my pets to Doc John Andrews through every vet clinic he's been at in Colorado. So glad he's got his very own clinic now. I pass hundreds of vets on my hour drive to go to Mead - because Doc A really is THAT good. I wouldn't trust anyone else to my 4 and 3 legged fur kids.Sarah RutledgeGoogle
John is literally the only vet I trust my dogs to. He provided the ultimate vet care to my last dog, Brutus, and is providing unparalleled care to my current dog, Sammy. I have been to a lot of vets but haven't met someone who cares about your pets as much as John does. He is also very affordable!Greg McGeeGoogle
The staff here was amazing! They went above and beyond to explain things in terms that I would understand. They really let me participate in the decision making for a treatment plan for my old doggie. I'd highly recommend this place!!!!Kelley H.Yelp
